HeIsTheArtist Challenges Fleetwood Mac On Cover Of “Landslide”

HeIsTheArtist’s career has been quite a journey. Formerly recording under the name “LeeMann Bassey,” HeIsTheArtist’s career took a sharp turn after hearing a sermon given by TD Jakes who inspired him to shift focus from secular music to Christian music. HeIsTheArtist has been spreading his faith through music ever since. His Roots EP does, however, feature a glimpse into his past with his stunning cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide.” It’s not often that covers do justice to the originals, especially when we’re talking about a song as iconic and beloved as “Landslide.” Somehow, HeIsTheArtist, has made the song his own, restructuring the melodies and reimagining the production while not straying too far from the classic we all know and love. The result is a version of the song that, dare I say, challenges the original? In a genre that is all too often overlooked as non-commercial, HeIsTheArtist is a fresh new face and a fresh new voice in Christian music capable of helping to breathe new life into the genre.
